What Can My Member of Parliament Do For Me?
A federal Member of Parliament serves constituents in many ways, including intervening on your behalf when you are having problems with departments of the federal government. Although resolution may not always be achieved, the efforts of your MP can often help you solve a problem.      
     
Areas where the MP and his staff can be helpful include:

Immigration · Delays in visitation status or landed immigrant cases

Citizenship · Delays in the processing of citizenship papers

Employment Insurance · Delays in payment, problems resulting from miscommunication, audit disputes

Revenue Canada and GST · Problems resulting from audits and overdue taxes, appeals matters, objections with the tax system, GST disputes

CPP and OAS · Application assistance, status of cheques, delayed CPP disability claims, claim denials, appeals issues

Canada Student Loans · Collection issues, financial hardships

National Defence and Veteran's Affairs · Dismissal issues, veteran cheques, information

Canada Post · Mail delays, ad mail complaints, mail re-direction issues
