Canada Summer Jobs Program Application’s Are Now Available:

Beginning today, Canadian not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small business with 50 or fewer employees can submit their applications for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.  The application deadline is February 27, 2009.

The Canada Summer Jobs program is a Government of Canada initiative that provides funding to support employers who create summer job opportunities for students while helping organizations provide valuable services to their communities.

There are three main objectives for the CSJ program:

• Provide work experience for students
• Support organizations, including those that provide important community service
• Recognize that local circumstances, community needs and priorities vary widely

Applications can be made on-line, in person, by mail or fax.  Applications are available at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj2009, or at local Service Canada offices.
